List: 5 Songs To Help You Power Through Finals

By Caroline Meister

For Ball State students, finals are just around the corner. For me, motivation is one of the hardest things when I’m studying. Studying is the woooooorsssttt (John Ralphio voice), but hopefully these songs will help you stay on that finals grind and get an A (or just pass).

1.     “All I Do Is Win” by DJ Khaled

You already knew this one was going to be on here, but in my defense, how could it not be? This is should be your finals anthem: play it before you take a final, after you take a final, while you’re studying, etc. I can almost guarantee that the results will be better than if you hadn’t listened to this song.

2.     “Step Yo Game Up” by Snoop Dogg

Warning: this song is incredibly explicit. Although quite graphic, this song really does make me want to step my game up (wink, wink). The screamed lyrics act as the psycho coach or parent I never had, pushing me to do my best without the emotional damage.

3.     “Started From The Bottom” by Drake

Blast this one to remind you that, even though you might feel like you’re drowning, you used to be in high school. If you made it through that, you can make it through anything. Even finals.

4.     “I’m The Best” by Nicki Minaj

You can’t really go wrong with Nicki Minaj, especially if you’re a female. She writes some of the best girl power anthems out there, and this one is no different. I typically have this on repeat when studying. It gives you that needed boost of confidence to conquer all the information you have to learn in two days.

5.     “Look At Me Now” by Chris Brown

Similar to “Started From The Bottom,” this song will remind you of all the obstacles you’ve conquered, and better yet, all the paper you’ll get after you graduate. Keep your eye on the prize and just remember: you’re one year closer to graduating.
