Oscars 2015: Musical Performances

By Louie Wieseman

The 87th Academy Awards will be presented Sunday, February 22nd at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, CA, and hosted by the one and only Neil Patrick Harris.

While the night is devoted to the stars of the best movies of 2014, it’s also a night of performances as well! It won’t be as long as the Grammys performances (9 awards and how many performances in three and a half hours?!).

NPH will open with a musical number followed by performers like Jack Black doing a ‘very special sequence’ according to producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Lady Gaga will perform as well as Jennifer Hudson and Anna Kendrick. These performers have been tight-lipped when it comes to details of their performances, so we’ll just have to see!

The five current nominees in the Best Original Song category will be performing as well. John Legend and Common will be at the Oscars performing “Glory” from Selma. Tim McGraw will perform “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” from Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me. From The Lego Movie will be the duo Tegan & Sara as well as The Lonely Island performing “Everything Is Awesome.” Rita Ora will sing ”Grateful” from Beyond the Lights, and Adam Levine and Maroon 5 will be there to sing “Lost Stars” from Begin Again.

The 87th Annual Academy Awards will air Sunday, February 22 on ABC at 7 pm ET.
