Lil Wayne Releases Mixtape ‘Sorry 4 The Wait 2’

October 28 and December 9. What do these days have in common? They are the dates that rap superstar Lil Wayne was supposed to release his highly anticipated album Tha Carter V and there are still no signs of a new album this year. Tuesday night, the rapper released the mixtape Sorry 4 The Wait 2, the sequel to his mixtape Sorry 4 The Wait, which was released in 2011 because of the album delay. The new mixtape is typical Weezy with quick delivery and ridiculous puns and similes. It also features beats from the best hip-hop hits of 2014 like “Coco” by O.T. Genasis, “No Type” by Rae Sremmurd, “Drunk in Love” by Beyonce, “Hot N*gga” by Bobby Shmurda, and many more. Drake, 2 Chainz, and the alleged new girlfriend of Lil Wayne, Christina Milian, are also featured on the new mixtape.
The main reason for Sorry 4 The Wait 2 and the delay of Tha Carter V is disputes between Wayne and his record company Cash Money. The rapper stated that the company put him in a bad position, making him feel like a prisoner. On the cover of the mixtape is Wayne’s arm with handcuffs on his wrists, symbolizing his frustration. Tracks “Coco”, “Try Me”, and “Sh!t” clearly express anger towards Cash Money Records. Overall, we don’t know the exact release date of his fifth installment of Tha Carter. From the looks of the situation,  we can expect it to come out sometime in the summer, but Sorry 4 The Wait 2 will keep Weezy fans satisfied until then.
