By: Amber Underwood

On Broadway to the big screen, Anna Kendrick never seems to let her audiences down. Anna Kendrick started in show business in her early adolescence in High Society on Broadway as the role of Dinah. She was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance and was the second youngest actress ever to receive such an honor.

She also won a Drama Desk Award and a Fany Award, an award for best actress featured in a musical. Her incredible performance also earned her the Drama League and Theatre World Award. She was a lead performer with Cabaret’s Kit Kat Club at Carnegie Hall Live in My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies in 1999.

There was no stopping Kendrick once she made her way into the film industry. She first appeared in a movie called Camp, a musical comedy from the early 2000’s. More recently, Kendrick has been cast as Cinderella in the highly anticipated film version of Into the Woods. This role is perfect for Kendrick, considering her musical theatre background.
Along with being cast in Into the Woods, she has also snagged a role in the upcoming animated film Trolls as the voice of the princess, Poppy. Since her film debut, Kendrick has appeared in movies such as Rocket Science (2007), Elsewhere (2007), The Marc Pease Experience (2007), The Twilight Saga (2008), Up in the Air (2009), Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World (2010), 50/50 (2010), What to Expect When You’re Expecting (2012), and finally, her leading role in Pitch Perfect (2012).
