The CEO of Walt Disney Co., Robert Iger, recently announced that there will be another installment of the Toy Story franchise. After the success of Toy Story in 1995, Disney and Pixar decided to continue the story with a second, third, and now fourth film. John Lasseter will return to direct, along with new writers, Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, and producer Galyn Susman. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are set to reprise their voice roles as Woody and Buzz as well. The plot of the film has not been released yet. Many people are hesitant about where the story will go, since Toy Story 3 brought the trilogy to such a wonderful end. In answer to this, Lasseter claims that because, “’Toy Story 3’ ended Woody and Buzz’s story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another ‘Toy Story’ movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie—and I wanted to direct it myself.”
Toy Story 4 is set to premiere June 16th, 2017.
