Selena Gomez bursts back into the music scene with the very raw and personal song “The Heart Wants What It Wants.” The track, written and produced by long time collaborators Rock Mafia, serves as the lead single from Selena’s compilation album, For You. Selena revealed to Ryan Seacrest Thursday morning that the track was indeed about her relationship with Justin Bieber. The track is lyrically dark and contains a pulsating beat that emulates Selena’s growth as an artist. Critics have doubted her before, but now’s the time to get on the Selena Gomez bandwagon.
For You is the final release by Selena through Disney’s Hollywood Records as she will continue her musical endeavors over at Interscope Records. Interscope is home to Lana Del Rey, Zedd, Fergie, Gwen Stefani, and other big name acts. The compilation album will contain the two new tracks, lead single “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” and “Do It.” It will also feature some of her greatest hits as well as remixes, including the new version of “My Dilemma,” that was originally supposed to be released in 2012.
For Youis available for pre-order here and will officially be available November 24.
