Welsh born actor Luke Evans has starred in movies such as Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, Clash of the Titans, and The Three Musketeers. It is clear that Evans is an extremely versatile actor by simply looking at the range of characters he has played, but when we actually see Evans perform, we understand his true talent.
At 18, Evans started his acting career after earning a scholarship to The London Studio Centre in Kings Cross in 1997. By 2000, Evans graduated and was acting in theatre productions in London, but it wasn’t until 2009 that Evans made his first film appearance in Clash of the Titans (2010). Evans played the small role of Apollo. Shortly after this appearance, Evans was casted in four other movies that same year, including Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, Robin Hood, Tamara Drewe, and Blitz.
In 2011, Evans’ career propelled forward and he was offered bigger roles. Evans starred in The Three Musketeers as Athos, in Ashes as JB, and in Immortals as Zeus. Recently, Evans has played roles in movies such as Fast and Furious 6 (2013) as Shaw, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug (2013) as Bard the Bowman, and No One Lives (2013) as Driver.
Now, Evans has moved on to play Dracula in the newly revamped origin story, Dracula Untold, which opens in theaters on October 10th, 2014. This is Evans’ first leading role in the Hollywood movie industry. Dracula Untold is a story of Vlad, a man who will do anything to protect the people of his homeland and ensure their safety, even if it means dooming himself. As well as starring inDracula Untold, Evans will also be in the new Hobbit film, The Battle of Five Armies, returning as Bard the Bowman. In this third and final installment of the Hobbit trilogy, Bilbo must unite everyone to fight their enemies and Smaug. Will they unite? Will they survive? Will they win?
