Eminem’s Shady 15th Anniversary Album

By Jeffery Rhodes

It has been 15 years since the “Rap God” himself, Eminem, started up his own record label with manager Paul Rosenberg. Since then, Eminem’s record label, Shady Aftermath, has released 14 albums. In August he announced a new album compilation tiltedShady XV, an appropriate title since it is the 15th album and it is coming out on the 15th anniversary of the record label.

Eminem has already released a single from the highly anticipated album called “Guts Over Fear” featuring the talented Sia, who sings the bridge and chorus. From the newest single you can get a sense of the direction he wants for his label. As Eminem enters some of his final years as a rap icon he starts focusing his career more on the artists he has signed to the label. The single is available on iTunes and  can also heard in the trailer for The Equalizer, starring Denzel Washington, coming to theaters this Friday.

As for the new album it will be a 2-disc set, one disc serving as a greatest hits album and the other disc serving as a whole new album with new material. The greatest hits won’t just be hits from Slim Shady, but all the biggest hits of the label. For example, two songs that are confirmed to be on the disc one are “Lose Yourself” by Eminem and “In Da Club” by 50 Cent. Fans can expect that other hits like “My Band” by D12 and songs like “Lighters” by Bad Meets Evil will be on there as well. Disc two will have an impressive lineup that includes Eminem, 50 Cent, Slaughterhouse, D12, Bad Meets Evil, Royce Da 5’9, and Yelawolf along with special guest features from other famous artists. After this compilation the label has already confirmed a Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse album that Eminem will personally be producing. There are no talks of another Eminem album in the making but this Shady XV compilation will have to entertain his fans until then. Shady XV is set to come out on November 28th, just in time for Black Friday.
